High Demand for Bass Guitar Players

Bands are always looking for bass guitar players since they aren’t as common as guitarists. Even if you are beginner you can probably find a spot in a local band without too much trouble.

Check out Craigslist and look at how many guitarists are wanted vs bassists. If it’s your goal to play in a band, bass guitar can put you on the fast track. Not only will you get stage experience, your skills will improve faster when playing in a band situation with other musicians vs playing alone in your basement.

Bass guitarists are also always needed for session work and providing music for background tracks. Try posting an ad on Craigslist offering your services. I think you’ll be surprised at how many people are desperate to find a bass player for this type of recording work.
